Prior to becoming an attorney, Courtney spent more than 10 years in nonprofit management, most recently as the Executive Director of the Athens Area Homeless Shelter.

Courtney is also a member of the Rotary Club of the Classic City of Athens and serves on the board of Extra Special People.
